Spaghetti Squash is also called gold string melon, it is unique among winter squashes; when cooked, the flesh falls away from the shell in strands like spaghetti and retains a tender, yet al dente, texture. The savoury flavour is delicious, and low calorie, with a simple bit of butter and salt. Each plant can yield 5 to 7 squash.

The pale yellow, oval fruits grow to 25cm (10") on long, productive vines. Spaghetti Squash keeps well for meals right through winter. Boil or bake the whole fruits, and then cut lengthwise down the middle. It's then easy to fork out the fibrous interior that looks just like pasta. Enjoy it simply seasoned as is, or topped with your favourite pasta sauce.

Care and Sowing Instructions

The yellow rind of this squash is smooth and very hard. After the fruits have ripened on the vines, give them a quick wipe down with a highly diluted bleach solution. If the skin is not nicked, the fruits will last for months.

This is a frost-tender plant. Sow early spring & summer in a temperate climate, All year (if frost-free) for subtropical climates. Sow 20mm deep, 100cm apart. Seeds germinate best at 21-35oC soil temperature. Emerge in 7-10 days. The plant needs a trellis. Harvest 15 weeks when the fruit is 22cm long & 1.8kg. Vines bear 4-5 squashes. Stores well up to 4 months

WA order dispatch: Once a week. WA-based customers' orders will go through the Quarantine WA inspection at the WA border.

Return & Refund Policy

At Happy Valley Seeds, we strive to ensure your satisfaction with every purchase. If you're ever unsatisfied for any reason, please don't hesitate to reach out and let us know - we'd be more than happy to provide an exchange or refund according to these conditions:

To be eligible for a return, your item must remain unused and in the same condition at which you received it. Additionally, it should retain its original packaging.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept exchanges or refunds on perishable items unless they are damaged.

For optimal satisfaction, you can return or exchange your purchase within 30 days of receiving it.

If you need to cancel an order you haven't picked up within 2 weeks after first delivery attempt, we'll need to charge a 20% restocking fee based on the seed value. Once we receive your mail order back, we will process the refund, minus the 20% restocking fees. Unfortunately, we won't be able to refund the postage, though.

If the buyer wants to change his/her mind, then the cost of returning the order will be covered by the buyer.

At Happy Valley Seeds, we are more than happy to cover the cost of return shipping for any damaged goods.
