Fairest Flooer - Karine Polwart CD

Karine Polwart’s third solo album, Fairest Flooer, is a stripped-back and intimate collection of traditional Scots songs that marks a return to her musical roots. Known for her award-winning songwriting, Polwart began her career with folk groups Malinky and Battlefield Band, and this album pays homage to that foundation.

The album features delicate arrangements with minimal instrumentation—mainly acoustic guitar or piano—creating a raw and honest backdrop for Karine’s warm, earthy voice and expressive storytelling. The focus remains on the emotional delivery and lyrical depth of traditional ballads and love songs.

As a special bonus, the album includes a preview track, Can’t Weld a Body, offering a glimpse into her next project of original compositions titled This Earthly Spell.
