Enduro exclusively utilizes 440C stainless steel for balls and races, ensuring exceptional durability and corrosion resistance in challenging environments. This alloy offers the highest strength, hardness, and wear resistance among standard 440-series stainless steels due to its high carbon content and extensive heat and cryogenic treatments. While stainless steel bearings have about 20% less load capacity and are slightly softer than the 52100 chromium steel used in most Enduro bearings, they are ideal for wet conditions, frequent washing, or exposure to sweat. This bearing is used as a suspension pivot by various bicycle brands, including BH. Enduro provides options in high-carbon chromium steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic-hybrid, and XD15, with ceramic or stainless steel balls. The design incorporates the deepest groove races to accommodate the largest balls and includes dual-lip seals that fit into a micro-groove, creating a full labyrinth seal for superior protection against contaminants.
