The edge of the plywood is very slightly rough, not super polished as you might expect if it was a chopping board. But it is only slight and otherwise is a great product. In my opinion much simpler and pleasant than almost all the other options I saw online. Definitely does the job well. I bought two of these and returned one which has a slightly damaged top and the seller replaced immediately and was very easy to deal with.
