AHAs (which includes acids such as Glycolic and Lactic) and BHA (which includes Salicylic Acid), is derived from acetylsalicylic acids. While BHA works similarly to AHAs, in that it exfoliates the skin, BHA has a smaller molecular weight (smaller molecule size) and is oil (lipid) soluble, which allows it to penetrate deeper into the skin, including within the pore itself!
