The 1500g Hultafors Agdoor Splitting axe is the mid-size Splitting Axe in the Agdor range. The head is Hand Forged using time tested methods the Hults Bruk forge has been using since 1697. The Splitting Axe features a 750mm curved Swedish made American Hickory handle providing a perfect combination of beautiful balance & strength. This Splitting Axe is perfect for splitting small-medium logs. It’s lighter weight compared to a heavier Splitting Maul Makes it suitable for smaller users. Splitting axes are specifically designed to split wood versus cut across the grain which ensure they do not jam in the grain as Axes can.

• The axe is hand-forged and made from Swedish axe steel using traditional methods in use since 1697.
• The steel is stuck several times, increasing its density and thereby the durability of the axe.
• Has a clear tempered zone within which the axe can be sharpened whilst not detracting from the strength of the edge.
• The shaft is made from hickory and treated with linseed oil.
