Smooth surface but the chalk still writes well on these. easy to clean. So good for indoor chalk work for toddlers when it’s too cold or wet outside. Two pack is great value.

I thought the aluminium legs and stand could be more rigid and strong. It seems to be a bit on the flimsy side.
