The concentration of fluoride leached from water undergoing filtration needs to be reduced from parts per million (ppm) to below 1.0 ppm. The efficiency of fluoride removal depends on the duration of contact between the water and the alumina filter media. A higher amount of alumina in the filter results in a lower fluoride content in the filtered water. Additionally, colder water and water with lower acidity levels are filtered more efficiently. The optimal pH level for effective treatment is 5.5, allowing for a removal rate of up to 95%
