The mesh hat was a concept we had wanted to visit for a few seasons. In the summer time it is ultimately functional, but in the last decade or so, it has been destroyed almost to the point of no return, by Ed Hardy hats, promo trucker hats, Affliction and the such.
We wanted to celebrate the storied past of a classic - a return the the glory days of the mesh snapback. One of our favorite design elements, are the sewn down stripe appliques. They were used both in the athletic and automotive/motorcycle racing world, however most hats only had them on one panel. We wanted a pair of clean continuous stripe going around the entire hat, which ended up being a production nightmare, but our team nailed it.
