  • Winemakers Notes: Region: Hawkes Bay New Zealand. The superb vintage and beautifully balanced vineyards produced grapes which were harvested at varying levels of ripeness over a five week period, providing for an array of flavours and blending options. The fruit was crushed, pressed and settled for 24 hours before being racked clean off press solids for fermentation

• Beachwood 2012 Sauvignon Blanc
  
  • Beachwood,rsquo;s ridge vineyard produces a finely balanced Sauvignon Blanc that is fresh and is a drier style than a normal Sauvignon Blanc - a wine for the discerning palette
  • Winemakers Notes: Beachwood,rsquo;s ridge vineyard produces a finely balanced Sauvignon Blanc
    that is fresh and easy to drink. With the Indian summer we had, the fruit
    was very flavorsome. With gentle handling and long slow and cool
    ferments has produced a lively aromatic wine
  • Colour: Straw with golden-green hues
  • Aroma: Aromatic and Pungent. Lemon and white peach, nettles, green capsicum,
    hints of passionfruit
  • Palate: Intense Classic Marlborough fruit characters with a combination of tropical
    white peach type characters and fresh cut grass with lively acidity. Clean
    long and refreshing finish
    Winemakers We had challenges picking the fruit between the intermittent rain showers,
    but once crushed this wine was a pleasure to make. It shows the intensity
    and lively characteristics that Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc can produce
    when grown by good buggar,rsquo;s that know their vineyard.

  • Food Match: Works really well with creamy sauces, and dips with flavours of garlic or
    artichoke. Perfect to take to your favourite Thai BYO, and balances well
    with a rich salad like a Caesar - beware the Ides of March.

• Totara 2012 Sauvignon Blanc 2011
  • A small family vineyard making strikingly refreshing Sauvignon Blanc's
  • Winemaker Notes: Winemaking: Fruit was machine harvested from vineyards predominantly in the
    Rapaura sub-region close to the Wairau River. It was gently pressed and
    cold settled for up to 72 hours before being racked and inoculated with
    yeast strains selected to enhance varietal character. Fermentation was
    kept cool to ensure these delicate aromas were retained
  • Colour: Pale straw
  • Aroma: Punchy and aromatic, the nose displays notes of ripe stonefruit
    and citrus laced with subtle hints of fresh alpine herbs
  • Palate: The palate is rich and lingering with a melange of citrus,
    nectarine and light tropical fruit characters surrounding a
    backbone of wet stone minerality
  • Cellaring: Best drunk now or cellar for 3 - 5 years.
  • Food Match: Lobster with a pea and asparagus risotto
