1/ Kills 99.9% of Germs- The anti-microbial technology and anti-bacterial silver/zinc based additivewithin the plastics is certified to kill 99.9% of germs on contact. That’s all of LooBlade, not just the head, but the handle and holder too. TÜV Laboratories of Germany have certified LooBlade’s antimicrobial action with certification ISO 22196-2011. 2/ SwipeClean Technology®– The 8-blade helix shaped flexible head swipes the surface clean.It maintains a broad area of contact to “swipe clean” rather than scrub a surface. Brush bristles are inefficient at cleaning. They only touch a small part of the surface, requiring extensive scrubbing to be effective and often still leaving areas untouched. HOW SUSTAINABLE ARE THE MATERIALS?
We’ve worked hard to identify and source the most sustainable materials we can for LooBlade. We have opted for the newest technologies in plastics that are completely recyclable, free from phthalate and bisphenol-A, durable and long lasting, and totally safe to use.
ARE THE ANTIMICROBIAL AND HYDROPHOBIC ELEMENTS A COATING?
No, both of these key properties are added to the liquid plastics before manufacture so they are throughout the entire product – blade, handle and holder – and not just coatings.
HOW HYGIENIC ARE THE MATERIALS?
The plastics are actually of the standard that food and medical products need to be. We have certified this to ISO22196:2011, through the world-respected TüV laboratories in Germany.
HOW SAFE IS LOOBLADE FOR CHILDREN?
LooBlade is very much safer than a conventional toilet brush. Both the unit and holder are made from materials that have a thru-structure antimicrobial to International Standards Organisation certification, ISO22196:2011. So it will actually be safer than the toilet floor surfaces surrounding it.
WHAT ABOUT MOULD BUILD UP OR LIME THAT REQUIRES
We’ve done a lot of testing on this. Firstly, brushes tend to leave more than you think on a porcelain surface. If you do stain tests on supposedly ‘clean’ brush-cleaned surfaces you’d be shocked. That bacterial film also then proliferates much faster and acts as an adhesive for other nasties. Brushes also permanently carry a ‘charge’ of germs, incubated in the holder. This exacerbates the above effect. Even when you immerse a brush in bleach water for a long time, the nature of the deep crevices within the bristles means that they always retain a significant irremovable ‘starter’ load of bacteria ready to proliferate and be reintroduced to the toilet. LooBlade’s cleaning head is actually far more effective at cleaning matter on a smooth porcelain surface. The leading blades will get the job done! It’s a tough tool designed for the job,and inherently promotes less build-up. Our approach is about taking a disruptive view of the whole culture of toilet cleaning. Because brushes are so awful and ineffective, we have a bad regime of cleaning them. But the nasty stuff should never be able to accumulate in the first place! HOW DOES LOOBLADE COMPARE TO DISPOSABLE HEAD CLEANERS
While catering to the distaste that people have for the dirty brush head, cleaners with disposable heads/pads are an expensive option over the long term. In addition, the landfill created by the discarded heads is an unfortunate by-product of this approach.
HOW DOES LOOBLADE COMPARE TO WATER JET CLEANERS?
Some electronic options for cleaning the toilet have emerged in recent times, but such tools are relatively costly and are challenged when it comes to cleaning under the rim, or clearing blockages. In addition, the requirement to replace batteries, fill-up with water, product life and maintenance must be considered.
IS IT SAFE TO USE LOOBLADE WITH TOILET CLEANERS THAT CONTAIN CHLORINE BLEACH OR AMMONIA?
Yes, absolutely safe. LooBlade is inert to household chemicals. But remember never to mix bleach and ammonia together as highly toxic chlorine gas is liberated.
WHAT IF MY LOOBLADE DISCOLOURS?
Discolouring of LooBlade is very rare, but can happen. The discolouration can be a reaction to different levels of acidity or alkalinity - this can either be from excrement, or cleaning products. PH Neutral cleaning products are advised, and no cleaning products are required at all. Just LooBlade and water are certified to kill 99.9% of germs. In the unusual circumstance that staining does occur, soak the LooBlade in Napisan, and leave in the sun for a few hours.
