What is Peat Moss?

Previously named "Sphagnum" Peat Moss, this medium is a natural organic growing medium which conditions soil and regulates moisture and air around a plant roots. OGS peat moss is sourced from sustainably harvested peat bogs in Canada.

What are the benefits of Using Peat Moss?

Peat moss is sourced from natural peat bogs and therefore it is naturally free from plant pathogens, weed seeds, mineral salts and heavy metals.

Peat Moss:

Has a high water holding capacity, it holds up to 20x its weight in moisture and slowly releases it as the plant needs.
Protects soil from hardening.
Adds organic material to the soil.
Has an amazing air filled porosity (AFP) which allows roots to grow to their fullest potential.
Sphagnum Peat Moss is a ground up version of Sphagnum Moss - most suitable for creating professional soil mixes.

How do I use Peat Moss?

We recommend you have Peat Moss make up approximately one third (⅓) of your base mix.
