How to Care For and Clean Your Cufflinks

Now that you have a pair of luxury cufflinks which are fun and a beautiful piece of jewellery, but it’s important to care for them properly so they last your entire lifetime, and beyond! Our guide below gives you some tips for to care for and clean your cufflinks.

 

At Home

If paying for a professional isn’t your preferred method, you can easily do most cleanings at home. However, the best way to care for your cufflinks is to wear them mindfully.

 

Keep your cufflinks in a clean environment, separate from other jewellery. Our signature cufflink box that comes with every order is ideal for keeping the cufflinks separate and clean.


Keep a soft cleaning cloth in your desk drawer to wipe away office dust that may mark your cufflinks.

 

Precious Metals & Gemstones


If you have cufflinks made of gold or silver, you can use a professional gold or silver cleaning solution or warm, soapy water and a soft cloth to gently clean them. You can use an old soft-bristled toothbrush or professional cleaning brush to get into nooks and crannies, if necessary.

 

Clean sterling silver with a soft polishing cloth.

 

If you also have precious stones or pearls, you can use the same method, but be careful not to let them sit too long in the water.

 

Enameled & Stainless Steel

If your cufflinks are enamelled or stainless steel, avoid using cleaning solutions because it could ruin the solvents used to create them. Instead, use a soft polishing cloth to gently rub them clean. These items don’t generally require frequent cleaning, though.

 

Protect Your Cufflinks

Taking care of your cufflinks, long-term, is easiest if you keep them in a jewellery box. This helps prevent oxidation and tarnishing, which occurs as a reaction to oxygen. This also helps to keep them away from heat and sunlight, which can also cause damage. Ideally, you want to keep each pair in segmented compartments so they don’t scratch other jewellery items.

 

The Long Haul

If you take care of your cufflinks properly, and if you wear them frequently, they will be a wonderful heirloom to pass on to your future generation.

 

 

Sam & Qualis offers a 14-day easy returns and exchange policy for change of mind.

Goods should be returned in new condition in their original packaging. We want you to be happy with your purchase! If you are not happy with your cufflinks purchase within 14 days of purchase, you may return UNUSED merchandise. All return shipping charges must be paid by the customer.


Return & Exchange Conditions

1. Items returned without authorization will not be accepted.
2. The time frame for return & exchange must not exceed 14 days from when the original order was received.
3. All items must be returned in their original condition, without scratches or signs of wear, and must not be resized or altered in any way.
4. When returning or exchanging items, customers must use a shipping method that has tracking on it. Returns or exchanges with no tracking will not be processed.
5. For return, any promotional gifts received must be included with the returned items. Otherwise, the retail price of the promotional gift will be deducted from the refund.

For exchange of products, once we get a confirmation from the warehouse, we will then check if the required item is in stock and send a replacement. If not, we will reimburse you with a refund or store credit.

Refunds

Refunds will be processed within 5 days upon receipt of your package.
Please note, we are unable to provide refunds for orders that are in transit. In line with our Terms and Conditions, customers may be required to allow up to 15-30 days for orders to arrive before a resolution is provided.

Report any issues

1. Customers must contact Sam & Qualis within 48 hours of receiving their order if there was an issue relating to missing items, damaged or faulty.
2. Our shipments are quite fast, however, occasionally there will be unforeseen delays in shipment by couriers, if you do not receive your package within 2 weeks, please contact us so that we can assist you as soon as possible.
