Gollum uses the "one ring" to turn invisible. However over time it gives him "unnaturally long life'' and damages his mind. Turning him from a fun-loving hobbit named Smeagol into the creepy creature known as Gollum. The creature has slimy skin, grotesque sharp teeth, stringy hair and huge eyes. He lives in caves and is the owner of the Ring of Power for almost 500 years before he loses it in the darkness of the underground.
This fabulous invisible Gollum is very accurate to the descriptions in the Tolkien books as well as the film version of the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit trilogies by director Peter Jackson. We don't see Gollum turn invisible in the films, but it's explained in the books that he wore it to hunt for food and play tricks on other hobbits.
