The Angelica plant, scientifically known as Angelica archangelica, has a plethora of uses. Candied stems were once a popular confectionary and used to embellish cakes. In small amounts, chopped leaves can be added to fruit salads and cottage cheese. Also, leaves help neutralise acidity in sour fruits such as rhubarb. Boiling stems with jams is an excellent way to enhance flavour. Young stems can be used as a substitute for celery.

Angelica lends its distinctive flavour to the famous Benedictine. Besides, an infusion of its leaves is an excellent remedy for indigestion. Angelica root is a crucial ingredient in digestive tonics to relieve colic, cramps, and flatulence. It works wonders to ease spasms in bronchitis and asthma.

Angelica archangelica is a hardy plant used to protect against the plague because of its association with the archangel Michael. The plant's leaves stems, and flowers have medicinal and culinary uses. The leaves of Angelica can be brewed into a tea that helps maintain normal kidney function and acts as a natural breath freshener. This plant thrives in moist and nutrient-rich soil and requires a well-drained and protected area with morning sunlight. Angelica is a drought and frost-resistant plant that can be either a biennial or perennial and blooms during spring and autumn, growing up to 1m x 1m.

Sow in spring & autumn at 1mm deep & 50cm apart. Germination in 4-5 weeks at 14-20oC. Maturity in 1 year.

WA order dispatch: Once a week. WA-based customers' orders will go through the Quarantine WA inspection at the WA border.

Return & Refund Policy

At Happy Valley Seeds, we strive to ensure your satisfaction with every purchase. If you're ever unsatisfied for any reason, please don't hesitate to reach out and let us know - we'd be more than happy to provide an exchange or refund according to these conditions:

To be eligible for a return, your item must remain unused and in the same condition at which you received it. Additionally, it should retain its original packaging.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept exchanges or refunds on perishable items unless they are damaged.

For optimal satisfaction, you can return or exchange your purchase within 30 days of receiving it.

If you need to cancel an order you haven't picked up within 2 weeks after first delivery attempt, we'll need to charge a 20% restocking fee based on the seed value. Once we receive your mail order back, we will process the refund, minus the 20% restocking fees. Unfortunately, we won't be able to refund the postage, though.

If the buyer wants to change his/her mind, then the cost of returning the order will be covered by the buyer.

At Happy Valley Seeds, we are more than happy to cover the cost of return shipping for any damaged goods.
