Next in Loungefly’s Disney Villains Scene series is Cruella De Vil—if she doesn’t scare you, no evil thing will!

In 101 Dalmatians, Cruella hires thugs to steal a plethora of dalmatian puppies to make a coat out of their fur. With the press publishing stories and police closing in on them, Cruella orders the job to be done in one night. When the puppies are rescued and escape disguised as labradors, Cruella hunts them down.

While hiding in an empty home, Patch and Lucky find themselves covered in soot from the fireplace and begin blaming one another for it. In that moment, Pongo gets the idea to roll in the soot as a disguise. “Look, I’m a labrador!” He exclaims. “We’ll all roll in soot. We’ll be labradors.” With his encouragement, Perdy and the puppies all pile into the soot so they can slip past Cruella, Jasper and Horace and make their ride home. Cruella, however, is not so easily fooled. The dogs’ deception is revealed by melting icicles under her watchful eye and she tears off after the van they’ve escaped on. This Loungefly design takes inspiration from that scene. Custom-shaped applique of Cruella looms over the front zipper compartment, which takes the shape of the fireplace the puppies roll in. The curl of her lips can be seen when opening the compartment, and the ice in her stare is the bag’s front and center. Her coat collar is even made of faux fur!
