To maintain optimal performance, Dyson canister vacuum cleaners feature several filters. One of the filters is the pre-motor filter, which is designed to capture fine dust and particles before they reach the vacuum motor.

Cleaning or replacing the pre-motor filter regularly is essential to ensure the vacuum works efficiently. A clogged filter restricts the airflow, which reduces the vacuum cleaner's suction power.

With reduced suction power, the vacuum cleaner may not clean as thoroughly as it should. You may notice that it leaves dirt and debris behind, especially on carpets and in crevices.

When airflow is restricted due to a clogged filter, the vacuum motor has to work harder to maintain suction. This can cause the motor to overheat, leading to potential damage and reducing the vacuum's overall lifespan.

This pre-motor filter is located inside the side wheel housing of Dyson DC23 and DC32 vacuum cleaners. You can wash your Dyson filter to keep it clean but be sure to dry it thoroughly before using the vacuum cleaner.

All machines must be returned in sealed by manufacturer boxes in new condition. A 20% restocking fee will apply if the original seal is removed.
