Corn - Maize Mini Blue Popcorn seeds

Blue Mini Popcorn is a popular heirloom variety perfect for small gardens. Growing only to 1.5m to 2m, it won't take up much space, and each plant yields multiple cobs. It pops exceptionally well and is delicious. The cobs are shiny blue, ranging from indigo to colonial blue, rather than deep purple. Ears are small (5 to 10cm), the plants - the plant often produces three to four ears per stalk. These blue cobs can also add a unique touch to your gardening!

Proudly grown in Australia, this corn is neither a hybrid nor a GMO.

Corn Growing Instructions & Care

Corn can be sown in spring after all danger of frost has passed. Successive plantings can extend the harvest until January in most areas of Australia.

Sow direct, 20mm-30mm deep, in Spring or early Summer. Plant spacing is 30cm and row spacing is 75cm. It needs full sun and moist soil. Frost-tender plants mature in 85-90 days and grow 2m high.

Block planting improves pollination and gives well-filled cobs. Prepare the soil with compost and well-rotted manure. Count 18 days from when the silk appears and start checking for ripeness; the kernel should be milky.

Open-pollinated "Heirloom" corns have a more complex flavour, are not sugary, and have a shorter shelf life. For the best eating, watch the cobs carefully. The corn is not ready when the juice in the kernels is clear. When it gets milky, the corn is ready to eat. Pick while the juice is milky, yet to be pasty. Cook as fast as you can after picking.

WA order dispatch: Once a week. WA-based customers' orders will go through the Quarantine WA inspection at the WA border.

Return & Refund Policy

At Happy Valley Seeds, we strive to ensure your satisfaction with every purchase. If you're ever unsatisfied for any reason, please don't hesitate to reach out and let us know - we'd be more than happy to provide an exchange or refund according to these conditions:

To be eligible for a return, your item must remain unused and in the same condition at which you received it. Additionally, it should retain its original packaging.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept exchanges or refunds on perishable items unless they are damaged.

For optimal satisfaction, you can return or exchange your purchase within 30 days of receiving it.

If you need to cancel an order you haven't picked up within 2 weeks after first delivery attempt, we'll need to charge a 20% restocking fee based on the seed value. Once we receive your mail order back, we will process the refund, minus the 20% restocking fees. Unfortunately, we won't be able to refund the postage, though.

If the buyer wants to change his/her mind, then the cost of returning the order will be covered by the buyer.

At Happy Valley Seeds, we are more than happy to cover the cost of return shipping for any damaged goods.
