As seen on various survival shows, you scrape through the thin protective coating to the block of magnesium, scrape off

shavings, add tinder, then start fire by scraping flint towards the shavings and tinder, own knife is best.

Magnesium Block fuel is perfect for starting a fire in a damp moist environment.

1. Use Back of your own knife (not your sharp cutting edge) as a striker or a serrated edge for best results.

2. A little harder to do than you would think but With a little practice you will develop the skill and be starting fires like a survival pro.

- How to use:

Gently shave a small amount of magnesium with metal striker into a small pile of grass, paper or leaves to start a campfire

Strike the magnesium rod with striker

The sparks will ignite the shaved magnesium and consequently start the fire
