I read another review somewhere that someone said it is an odd mix of plush and yet also firm, and I tend to agree. The top layer is really comfortable and yet the layers below are firm enough to provide support. There is no firm edge layer around the perimeter that some more expensive mattresses have so if you get riiiiiight to the end it will dip a bit and you will feel like you will roll off, however, who sleeps right on the edge anyway right? I think more expensive mattresses use better materials, like cotton instead of synthetic, but I don't believe they are any more comfortable. For comfort, this on easily equal to my $2000 mattress.
