Can this be used to convert an HDMI signal from a (non-Apple) laptop to a VGA projector? Such as a Win7 Ultrabook?
Absolutely, the converter works in a similar fashion when a PC or a Laptop with HDMI port is involved. It will convert HDMI to VGA and project the images/ video on the VGA projector or display.
Will this also work with older LCD/Plasma screensthat only have VGA/DVI connections? Absolutely, theATV Pro is designed for legacy displays such as those mentioned above and VGA based projectors.
Will this work with Mac Mini that has HDMI port ?
Yes, the ATV Pro will work seamlessly with no issue to your VGA display
Does it allow me to play iTunes content such as movies and tv shows, or does lack of HDCP on VGA prevent that?Yes, this device is fully HDCP compliant and will let you play iTunes content as well as Netflix and other streaming media.
Will this work with the original ipad? Great question! Yes, it will work in terms of streaming your movies, photos or music but it will not Mirror your iPad, since iPad mirroring works with the later models and iPhone 4S.
Do I need a wifi connection for this to work? Good question. If you are using an Apple TV connected to the VGA projector using our ATV Pro, you will definitely require Wi-Fi network in order to use your iPad and AirPlay mirroring.
Is your device HDCP compliant? Yes, the ATV Pro is HDCP 1.2 Compliant, also listed on our specs tab.
Will this work with other HDMI devices, like a sony media player? And does this display the Apple Tv interface, or just the airplay? Honestly, this product is designed with Apple TV in mind and we have not tested theSony Media Player yet, however it will work with all HDMI sources. ATV Pro will display the entire Apple TV interface on the VGA projector when connected to it.
How do you choose (or what determines the VGA output resolution? Great question. The VGA output resolutions are displayed using EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) through internally stored resolutions from either the VGA display parameters or through the adapters internal memory of resolutions.
Does this work with the new AppleTV generation 3. I have an existing adapter that works with my Apple TV gen 2, but not with the new gen 3, so I am looking for one that works. Yes it has been tested to work with Apple TV 3rd Generation, 2nd Generation even the original Apple TV from 2006

Will you need a wired connection from the Kanex ATV Pro to the iPad to get sound through the device or a wired connection with the Stereo Mini jack to a local sound source? No. You only need a wired connection from your Apple TV to the VGA projector using our ATV Pro. That'sit! Once that is connected, you can stream, mirror your content from iPad wirelessly around the class-room or conference room. The stereo mini-jack connects to the VGA projector for audio.

RETURNS POLICY
To return goods we have delivered to you, please contact us within 30 days from the date you have received the item. A staff member will then assist you with any return or repair. This may include inspecting the goods, arranging for the goods to be sent for repair, or providing you with a replacement.
Incorrectly Ordered/Change Of Mind:
Refunds are not normally provided where you have simply changed your mind or found the goods cheaper elsewhere. However, if goods have been incorrectly ordered, at our discretion, customers may be credited less a restocking fee.

Faulty Items
We recommend you immediately inspect any goods that we deliver to you or that you collect from our store to ensure you are completely satisfied with the goods. If any goods arrive damaged, please contact us as soon as possible. We will arrange to have the damaged goods returned and either arrange for a replacement of the goods or refund. Replacements and refunds of new products that are damaged on delivery or faulty from new requires a proof of purchase of the product and be returned with all original packaging, accessories and/or manuals included. Refunds will be made via the method of payment you used to make your purchase. If we consider the goods to have breached a consumer guarantee, any shipping costs to return the goods to us will be at our cost and compensated.
Repairs
The product must be returned with proof of purchase, it must not be modified or mistreated in any way and it must not have been serviced elsewhere. Goods returned for repair will be assessed and/or repaired within a reasonable time. You may be required to pay labour, assessment and/or freight fees, such as where goods are assessed to have been damaged by misuse or accident. We may provide you with an approximate fee; this may vary due to reasons beyond our control. In some circumstances, goods presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished goods of the same type rather than being repaired. Refurbished parts may be used to repair the goods.
